With the renovations at Knockderry Castle, North Clyde Archaeological Society had been asked to come and do a survey with a view to recording its history. we continue theis work by inviting SARG - Scottish artifact recovery group. Forestry above Rhu Forestry are preparing to plant trees above Rhu. We know there are a number of features that need another look and to look for unrecorded features. The signs of activity are quarrying for Limestone, lime kilns for procucing the lime. This is our adventure on a rainy, windy day

Upper Torwood This is just the authors name, it comes becuse it is just above Upper Torwood road in Rhu and is only recorded as part of the author walking the land.

Peaton Woods Our interest is the sea cliffs and in particular a cave. There is also the old road from Coulport Ferry that would take you to Roseath Castle and the remains of an old bridge.

Mains(ruins) Appears to be some sort of homestead farm, or at least the ruins of one, situated above the track that runs behind the Hill house.

Ronachan The name means 'place of the seals' so called because for 1000 years or more seals have gathered on the rocks to fish.

Alasdair and myself went to look at a a feature up behind Camus Eskan.
It looked more like a promentary with a sea cliff.
If this is correct it would also, perhaps, suggest a bay on the west side

Today was a society revisit to to Millbrae cottages. the aim was to have a look for a previous building on or around the site. Finds included clay marbles, pottery and an old penknife.
